Photographer Shibly Shiraj is displaying photographs depicting scenic beauty and landmarks of France in his solo exhibition under way at Alliance Francaise de Dhaka in Dhanmondi.
The exhibition titled ‘France, Natural and Eternal: A Photographer’s Journey’ features a total of 44 photographs.
Honorary president of International Theatre Institute Ramendu Majumder was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition held on July 26.
Shibly Shiraj travelled to France in March 2019 where he stayed for three weeks. He rented a car and drove through the countryside and captured the picturesque locations that fascinated him.
‘The eye of the camera can capture more than what we see with our naked eyes. The success of a person with a camera depends somewhat on how much more he or she can add to the fleeting glimpse of the scene. I always aspire to add new dimension in my photographic endeavors. In doing so I’m most attracted by the nature itself. We all appreciate nature but the phenomenon that nature also defines us sometimes escapes us,’ said Shibly Shiraj.
A displayed photograph titled ‘Lonely Tree’ shows a tree standing in a vast open green field.
The photograph titled ‘Eiffel Tower Carousel’ shows the tower lit up at night.
The photograph titled ‘Love Lock’ shows different locks at a shop and at the bottom of the photograph there is a hand pointing at locks while another photograph titled ‘Dune Du Pilat’ shows a girl playing at a sea beach under the sun.
Besides, the photograph titled ‘Spiral Stairway’ shows a top angle view of a spiral stair. The show will end on August 8.
