Rabindra Sangeet singers entertained the audience presenting diverse Tagore songs at the auditorium of Music and Dance Centre Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.
Bishwabina, a platform for Tagore singers, organised the event to observe the 78th death anniversary of Tagore.
The programme titled ‘Aguner Poroshmoni Chhowao Praney’ featured recitations, solo and group performances.
Recitation artiste Alok Bandyopadhyay commenced programme reciting the poem Ei to payechola.
Ratna Bandyopadhyay, Riaz Mubarak and Khondokar, among others, recited poems like Aj Abar Shomoy Holo Bihanger, Ekdin Torikhana Theme Chhilo Eighate, Peyechhi Chhuti Biday Deho Bhai and Jokhon Porbena Mor Payer Chinho.
Artistes of Bishwabina rendered Tagore’s evergreen songs like Aguner poroshmoni chuwao prane and Shorbo khorbo tare tobo krudhdah.
Soma Rani Ghosh, Farjana Mahbub, Bina Dutta, Monika Paul, Sajjad Hossain, Any Riaz, Priyanka Sarkar, Meherunnesa Kabir, Farjana Yasmin Luna and Parvez Rahman Badhan entertained the audience presenting solo performances.
They rendered popular Tagore songs like Ami marer shagor pari dibo, Tomarashime pran mon loye, Pran bhoriye trisha horiye, Hridoy amar prokash holo and Jokhon tumi badhchhile.
