A Pitha Utsab was held at Islamic University in Kushtia amid festivity on Wednesday. IU public administration department organised the event at the first floor of Mir Moshrraf Hossain academic building around 11:30am. The Pitha Utsab offered diverse traditional pithas like Puli, Bhapa, Chitai, Pakan, Pati Shapta, Dudh Chitai, Dhupi, Beni, Komola Shundori, Nakshi, Lovo, Rosh Pitha, Taler Pitha and others. A large number of students thronged the venue to satisfy their sweet tooth. IU treasurer professor M Selim Toha, also the acting vice-chancellor of the university, addressed the Pitha Utsab as the chief guest. Public administration department chairman professor M Zulfiquar Hossain, IU law department and economics department chairman professor Debashish Sharma and teachers of IU professor AKM Motinur Rahman, professor Mohammad Selim, professor Mohammed Asaduzzaman, professor M Gias Uddin, associate professor M Fakrul Islam, assistant professor M Anisur Rahman were present at the inaugural programme.
