Popular Bangladeshi band Miles, which is touring various countries marking its 40th anniversary, entertained music lovers at concerts held in 10 US cities.
Miles was formed in Dhaka in 1979 by Farid Rashid. The first line-up of the band comprised Farid Rashid (lead vocals and bass), Larry (guitar), Ishtiaq (guitar), Kamal Mainuddin (drums) and Happy Akhand (keyboard).
The band has made significant contribution to the country’s rock music scene over the last four decades.
The current lineup of the band comprises Shafin Ahmed (vocals and bass), Hamin Ahmed (vocals and guitar), Manam Ahmed (keys), Turjo (drums) and Jewel (guitar and back-up vocals).
Shafin Ahmed could not join the band on the US tour due to passport related complications. He will join his fellow band members on stage as soon as he gets visa.
Miles performed in New Jersey on June 22, Virginia on June 28, Maryland on June 29, Baltimore on July 5, Michigan on July 6, Los Angeles on July 7, New York on July 14, Atlantic City on July 16, Phoenix on July 20, San Jose on July 21 and Florida on July 27.
After touring USA, the band will perform in Canada, and Australia. It will also perform at concerts in Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi and hold gala concert in Dhaka.
