Baroque music enchants Ctg audience

French music ensemble Son Ar Mein Consort and Chattogram-based Asian University for Women Choir entertained music lovers in Chattogram on Saturday at a programme held at the auditorium of Chittagong Club Limited.
Alliance Francaise Chittagong organised the event in collaboration with Chittagong Club Limited. The programme was supported by Embassy of France and sponsored by Institute of Francais Paris, Regent Airways, PHP Family, SPEDIAM and French Copy Right Agency.
Artistes of Son Ar Mein Consort and AUW Choir performed pieces composed by famous French composers Marc-Antoine Charpentier and François Couperin.
Son Ar Mein Consort consists of Gaëlle Marck and Alice Hache (vocals), Alice Piérot and Camille Aubret (violin), Florent Marie (flute), Emmanuelle Huteau (bassoon) and Clothilde Lacroix (violoncello). AUW Choir was led by Selvam Thorez and Jade Galvan.
Vice chairman of Chittagong Club Limited Al Sadat Dobhash was present as the chief guest at the programme. He thanked the organisers for arranging such a wonderful cultural event for the music lovers of Chattogram.
Director of Alliance Francaise Chittagong Selvam Thorez, AUW registrar David Dowland and flautist Ustad captain Azizul Islam, among others, were present at the programme.
AUW Choir has been working from December 2017 in partnership with Alliance Française Chittagong for a musical project under Selvam Thorez and Jade Galvan. This project aims at helping girls develop cultural and vocal knowledge and improve their self-confidence.
