Amrita Sarker gets Ph.D for research on Ayurvedic medicine

Dhaka: Renowned Ayurvedic physician, Dr. Amrita Kumar Sarkar, has been awarded Ph. D Degree for research on Ayurvedic medicine by Jahangirnagar University (JU), Savar.
The decision to award him the Ph.D was taken at a Syndicate meeting of JU recently.
His compiled his thesis titled “Scientific evaluation of the ayurvedic preparation Amritarista in increasing hemoglobin and the treatment of anaemia” under the supervision of Professor Dr. Sanjida Mubassara, Department of Botany, JU.
Dr. Amrita had earlier completed Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital under the University of Dhaka.
Presently he is working as a lecturer (Ayurvedic) in Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital.
Amrita, son of Atul Sarkar and Kalpana Sarkar, haling from Kalikapur village in Boraigram upazila of Natore district, seeks blessing for success in future life.
